AMARETTO
FRENCH TOAST
1
egg, lightly beaten
2 tablespoons amaretto
2 tablespoons caster (superfine) sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup milk
3 slices bread, crusts removed and halved
Place
the egg, amaretto, sugar and vanilla in
a bowl and whisk to combine. Whisk in the
milk.
Heat
a frying pan over medium heat and grease
with a little butter. Dip a few pieces of
bread into the egg mixture and place in
the hot frying pan. Cook for 2 minutes on
each side or until golden. Repeat with the
remaining bread. Serve dredged in icing
sugar or with maple syrup and small glasses
of amaretto and coffee.
