OATMEAL SESAME STICKS

Great for lunch boxes, your knapsack or a treat during a fall bicycle ride.

Preheat oven to 375°F | 15- by 10-inch jelly roll pan, greased

3/4 cup butter
1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
2 1/4 cups regular oats
3/4 cup sesame seeds
3/4 teaspoon baking powder

Melt butter in large saucepan. Stir in brown sugar and vanilla. Cook for 2 minutes or until mixture is bubbly. Remove from heat and stir in oats, sesame seeds and baking powder. Mix well. Press firmly with back of spoon into prepared pan. Bake for 7 to 10 minutes or until golden. Cool completely, then cut into bars.

VARIATION: Add a layer of melted chocolate on top for a more decadent taste.

Makes about 60 bars.

TIP: One pan goes a long way.

Preparation time: 10 minutes | Baking time: 10 minutes| Freezing: excellent.
