CITRUS
GRANITA
1
1/4 cups water
1/3 cup sugar
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
1/4 cup fresh orange juice
Pirouette cookies (optional)
Mint sprigs (optional)
Combine
first 4 ingredients in a saucepan. Bring
to a boil, and cook over medium-high heat
1 minute or until sugar dissolves, stirring
constantly. Remove from heat; cool. Pour
mixture into a 13 x 9-inch baking dish;
cover mixture and freeze for at least 8
hours or until firm.
Remove
mixture from freezer; scrape entire mixture
with a fork until fluffy. Place granita
in an airtight container; cover with heavy-duty
foil. Seal and return to freezer.
