CHICKEN WINGS TERIYAKI STYLE

This Japanese-style glaze is very simple to prepare and adds a unique flavor to the meat. The glaze can be used with any cut of chicken or with fish.

1 garlic clove, crushed
3 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons dry sherry
2 teaspoons honey
2 teaspoons grated fresh ginger
1 teaspoon sesame oil
12 chicken wings
1 tablespoon sesame seeds, toasted

Place the garlic, soy sauce, sherry, honey, grated ginger and sesame oil in a large bowl and beat with a fork, to mix the ingredients together evenly.

Add the chicken wings and toss thoroughly, to coat in the marinade. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and chill for 30 minutes or longer.

Cook the chicken wings on a fairly hot grill for 20-25 minutes, turning occasionally and basting with the remaining marinade.

Sprinkle the chicken wings with sesame seeds. Serve the wings on their own as an appetizer or side dish, or as a light meal with a crisp green salad.

Serves 4.
