ORANGE CHOCOLATE CHIP BISCUITS

Use cookie cutters to make ordinary round biscuits cut-up fun!

2 cups all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons sugar
3 teaspoons baking powder
2 teaspoons grated orange peel
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup shortening
1/4 cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips
About 2/3 cup orange juice
Orange Glaze (recipe follows)

Heat oven to 450°F. Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, orange peel and salt in large bowl. Cut in shortening, using pastry blender or crisscrossing 2 knives, until mixture looks like fine crumbs. Stir in chocolate chips. Stir in just enough orange juice so dough leaves side of bowl and forms a ball.

Place dough on lightly floured surface; gently roll in flour to coat. Knead lightly 10 times. Roll or pat 1/2 inch thick. Cut with floured 2 1/2-inch biscuit cutter. Place about 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown. Immediately remove from cookie sheet to wire rack (place rack on waxed paper to catch glaze drips). Brush Orange Glaze over warm biscuits. Serve warm.

Makes about 10 biscuits.
